How to subtract with exchange — 73 − 46:

1Ones column: 3 − 6 → can't do it! Need to exchange.
2Exchange: Borrow 1 ten → ones become 13. Tens become 6.
3Subtract ones: 13 − 6 = 7
4Subtract tens: 6 − 4 = 2. Answer: 27 ✅

💡 Tip: Always start with the ones column first. If you can't subtract, exchange a ten!
